If you’ve signed into your Doteasy Hosted Blog in the last couple days you would’ve noticed a few new features.

1. Custom Date and Time

You can now set a custom date and time for your entries. Previously, all entries posted to the blog is time-stamped with the server’s date and time. Now, with the custom date and time feature, you can easily change the entry post date to accurately reflect your country time zone.

2. Recent Comments

You can now add a “Recent Comments” section to your blog sidebar.

Including recent comment links in your sidebar can encourage conversation, especially when you blog is a social blog. Also, because the blog displays entries in an reversed chronological order (last one first), the “Recent Comments” can help your readers discover other content on your blog.

3. Navigation

You can also add a “Navigation” section to your blog sidebar.

The Navigation section will contain direct links to your blog main page, Today’s entry as well as an Archives page.

We know how much you value your privacy and with our new Doteasy's Hosted Gallery privacy control features, you can rest assure that your private life will stay private. With our new enhancements, the control is in your hands. You can decide whether you want to display your pictures to the public or keep it private for only your friends and family. Albums categorized as Public are open to everyone and do not require a login ID and password to access. In contrast, Private Albums are only visible to visitors you have assigned these certain albums to. Visitors will need to login to your gallery with the assigned ID and password, which is sent to them along with your private album invitation and the album sign-in link.

In addition to the above options, you can also choose to have your albums published or unpublished. Users are able to view published photos according to their level of access. On the other hand, unpublished albums cannot be seen by anyone, including those who have private access to the album. This way, no one can peek at your unfinished product until everything looks just the way you want it to be.

Keeping track of your visitors is simple and easy. The address book allows you to add, delete, or edit information about your friends and groups. You can assign the entire list of friends from a certain group into an album using the “Select All” button. This eliminates the need to add each individual separately. You can also insert 25 email addresses at a time to send out individual invitations.

If you are looking to add a classic vintage look to your website, then the Wanokoto Lab has a creative tool to get things started for you.

This little application is able to give regular colored images a well-worn, yellowed look. As a result, it resembles an old newspaper or your grandmother's photograph when she was 5 years-old. This sure beats fooling around with Photoshop for hours to get the same effect for a beginner like me.

One click and it automatically desaturates the photo, smudges it, and add some grainy effects to it.
